Over the past twenty years, DR. SHARMANE C. MILLER, Ph. D, has served The Bahamas in various roles including preschool, primary and high school teacher, college lecturer, educational consultant and human resource trainer.  As a writer, she has authored several children’s books, books of poetry, and research articles, which have been published in international journals.  Because of her passion to equip teachers, Dr. Miller has co-designed the Ministry of Education’s National Teacher Mentoring Programme.  She continues to empower and inspire educators and students through her interactive workshops and online resources.

Professor BEULAH L. GARDINER – FARQUHARSON, Ed.D., is an International Educational Consultant and Disability Specialist, with more than 25 years experience in public education and the rehabilitation of special populations. Her areas of specialization include curriculum and instruction, information technology, programme development, behavioral management, education psychology, research and special education administration. Dr. Gardiner –Farquharson contributed to the 1999 National Task Force Report on Disability as a researcher and technical specialist and is currently serving on the Government’s committee responsible for National Disability Equal Opportunities Bill for Persons With Disabilities in The Bahamas. She coordinated two University of Miami Masters Degree Programmes in Special Education at The College of The Bahamas and pioneered the field of Music Therapy in The Bahamas. She served as the Co-Deputy Chairperson and lead Technical Consultant, National Commission On Special Education for The Bahamas Government, 2003 – 2006. Dr. Gardiner-Farquharson, along with church leaders, pioneered the first National Leadership Conference for upper level primary school children in The Bahamas in March 2008. She has more than 35 years of community service particularly in mentoring young people through the arts and is currently the Director of a Children’s Fine Arts Conservatory at Bahamas Faith Ministries International, in Nassau Bahamas, served as Chair of the School of Education College of The Bahamas. Leadership in educational programme restructuring and development, team building and empowerment are some of her greatest assets. Dr Farquharson served as President of The Bahamas Baptist Community College from 2012 to 2014. She is currently a Professor of Education at The University of The Bahamas.
