The Eagle - A Tribute in Memory of Dr. Myles Munroe

Picture
I once knew an eagle
He was born in the nest of the island sun
I saw him fly ever so high
Across the breadth of the celestial skies
He carried the glory of the Son
The One after whom he fashioned his image
The One for whom he daily echoed his love
What an eagle
What a man

Oh magnificent eagle
Day by day, I watched your journey
Flying across archipelagos, countries, and continents,
Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with nations
Bringing generations of men and women
Boys and girls
Healing, Empowerment, and Salvation
Breaking through cultural boundaries
Emancipating generations to a Commonwealth of Love
What an eagle
What a man

Oh precious eagle
I heard you say, “God lives in the Bahamas”
And I saw Him reign in you
Even to the very end
Your name rang loud in the earth realm
A pioneer of heaven’s culture here on earth
Kingdom Ambassador
World Changer
Your number one priority was that His will be done
And the world saw His will through you
What an eagle
What a man

I have never seen an eagle soar so high
Because of you, I too can spread my wings on the winds truth
Because of you, I can be empty when I die
Because of you, I fearlessly rise
Oh eagle, you no longer soar in sight
But the flight of your legacy still lives on
Winged with glorious purpose
Crowned by the beautiful morning Son
You have ascended to the light
I will always remember that eagle
I will always remember Dr. Myles Munroe
What an eagle
What a man
