Seven targeted areas have been identified to allow for leadership cultivation. These areas are aligned with the ascribed leadership principles.

The targeted areas are academics, gifts and talents, team relationships and interpersonal skills development, family and community stewardship, critical thinking skills and reading.

Academic Challenges

Objectives: Participants will

  • - Recognize area/s of academic challenges and set goals for high achievement.
  • - Implement plans for high academic achievement.

Gifted-Talented Par Excellence

Objectives: Participants will

  • - Become inspired to maximize their potential in the areas of their gifting-talent.
  • - Discover and deploy their abilities, talents and gifts.
  • - Discover self and unique purpose.

Team Relationships and Interpersonal Skills Objectives: Participants will

  • - Be afforded opportunities to establish appropriate associations/friendships and good interpersonal skills.
  • - Engage in practical experiences that will enhance the appreciation of individual differences.

Family Stewardship

Objectives: Participants will

  • - Cultivate and replenish spiritual reserves through family relationships.
  • - Learn how to contribute to immediate family life in a practical way.
  • - Be provided with opportunities to respond to responsibility.

Community Stewardship

Objectives: Participants will

  • - Learn how to serve others in their community and otherwise.

Critical Thinking Skills

Objectives: Participants will

  • - Be provide opportunities for self-governance & self-control.
  • - Define critical thinking as a tool to help them face challenges in society.
  • - Define barriers that can prevent them from thinking critically.
  • - Apply various perspectives to given situations.
  • - Identify fallacious arguments in society to better understand the art of critical thinking.
  • - Apply their knowledge of problem solving skills from real-life scenarios.

Reading

Objectives: Participants will

    • - Read leadership titles and other selected books that will influence their values, character, and beliefs about their purpose and their ability to communicate their ideas in different ways.
    • - Be provided resources to foster the enjoyment of reading and life-long learning.
    • - Acquire an awareness of the importance of books.
    • - Be exposed to various genres, cultures and positive literary experiences.
    • - Access support for school-based reading curriculum.
    • - Explore their reading interest in meaningful ways.
    • - Access support generally towards overall improvement of core skills relevant to the elementary/primary school language arts curriculum
